| History of Ace Office Supplies |

In those days the concept of calling on customers, assisting them to put together an order and delivering it to their office was a new one. Today the commercial stationery trade is extremely competitive, but Mr Emberton's original focus on personal and helpful service is as valid as it ever was. Every member of staff has an important part to play in maintaining our friendly relationship with our customers. The original premises were a small room above a bookies office near the Triangle, central Bournemouth. Since then the company has moved several times. Firstly into a lock-up shop in Pokesdown, then into its first warehouse in Palmerston Road, Boscombe (now James & James Shoeshop), this enabled the company to substantially increase its stockholding. The next move was to take over a Whitbread Depot in Windham Road which served as the companies base for around 20 years , this move was big enough to assist efficient handling of the substantial stock holding - a fundamental part of the company's trading style. The next move took place over four days at the end of August 1996, when the modern fixturing systems were introduced. Many members of staff will relate tales of the move. Despite its success it wasn't without its moments! The move to the current premises was made over the Easter weekend in 2001, A new £1.7 million Distribution Centre was built only 200 yards along Yeomans Way. Since the move many systems have been reviewed and refined. This is a continuing process and all members of staff are invited and encouraged to present ideas for improvement.
