Winter Essentials 2011

Last year saw one of the coldest winters for a long time with heavy snow and frosts through-out December, it's time to get ready for this year, with this in mind Ace are happy to announce its Winter Essentials Range.

'Tis the season to be chilly
With the latest news stories and weather reports pointing towards Arctic conditions, and the snow that recently hit New York heading our way its best to be prepared for the worst. Now we don't mean get your Arctic explorer outfit out, but it would be wise to stock up on a few items just in case the worst does happen, this includes making sure you have a few supplies in your car just in case you get stuck in a 2 day snow induced tail back like many people last year.

Some of the things you may want to consider are the power going out, gas being cut, being stuck indoors for a few days, slippery walkways to and from the car and of course being stuck in the car.

Solar Panel Installation

Solar Panel installation to our warehouse in Bournemouth

Installation of Solar Panels to our main warehouse and office building started on Wednesday 27th April 2011 here in sunny Bournemouth.

The installation of these photovoltaic panels is part of our ongoing commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and building a sustainable business. At 75Kw be believe that our solar installation will be the largest in Dorset and one of the largest on the South Coast. It will generate electricity to feed the national grid as well as our own requirements. The saving on Carbon emissions is estimated at c 8 tonnes per year.

The Facts: 400 panels, 3km of cable to generate 75Kw of electricity

Installation began on Wednesday 27th April and should be complete on Friday 6th May. The video above is a live feed showing the installation work taking place.

After a careful selection process we chose to work with SunConcept who have offices in several European countries in addition to the UK. With experience of over 1500 installations we are confident that they will complete the project on schedule.

Other initiatives that we have implemented include low energy lighting, fuel conditioning systems fitted to our gas heaters and similar technology installed in our delivery vehicles. Our kitchens and washrooms are chemical free and we operate waterless urinals using Eco-Cube Microbial Cubes. Many of these technologies we are able to supply to our clients.
